“Identifying Your Mission Field” w/ Creighton Alexander

This is a portion of the workshop that Rev. Creighton led at the Prepare 2011 Collegiate Ministry Training event on knowing your context for ministry. In this video Creighton says that “[chaplains and campus ministers] have to become cultural anthropologists and social anthropologists on your campus. You have to find the things that make it tick–it is a unique environment like no other college.” Creighton has extensive experience in campus ministry and has served faithfully (and excellently) at several campus ministries–he is now the Director of the Wesley Foundation at the University of Alabama (http://bamawesley.org ).

Creighton helps run Refresh: an annual Campus Ministry Training event every December (13-15th this year–registration & more info at http://collegeunion.org/refresh ). He is also a campus ministry coach and will hold a Campus Ministry Boot Camp before this year’s Refresh conference where you can learn more even more about campus ministry.
